Crawling for 4 days and he goes for the stairs and makes it up one step!!! Only one of my boys would attempt something so fearless (they are their father's sons right?) His delight in his accomplishment was apparent, as was my look of astonishment as I realized we are entering a time of craziness! I think I will set up a tent and camp out day in and day out at the foot of the stairs, at least until he learns how to walk back down them. 
My one concern is what is he going to try tomorrow?
